Baby Mania!!

(Kelly: Jan.28; Jen: Jan. 17; Erika, Dec. 21; Abby: Anyday!)

It all started with Abby. In January, we joined a small group that had all young couples without kids. But, our first visit there started with an announcement that there would be a baby at the end of August. Of course we were all ecstatic for Abby and her hubby without knowing that three more of us would be pregnant before her baby was born!! In May, we announced ours, and in June, our friends Jen and Kelly surprised us (and each other) with the news that they were both due in January! It has been incredible to go through this with these 3 ladies!!! And, so far there are for sure two boys in the mix....maybe there will be two boys and two girls?? :)

First Knitting Project!

I'm done with my first knitting project!!!! And, it is getting easier and easier and seriously, SO addicting :) I'm so bummed that my pictures of my actual project didn't turn out because I was just practicing on black yarn so it just looks like a black blob BUT, this is what I knitted (only in black and with my share of mistakes in it!!

Adorable!! Now I just need to get some buttons, cute yarn, and I'm off to make a pair in time for my niece? I still have a month so I should be able to get the mistakes worked out by then, right?

Aaron is working long hours so I just might get motivated to finally start on that dreaded wedding scrapbook....seriously, I've been married for 4 years! And, I have to admit that when I found out I was having a boy, I decided it wasn't at the top of my list of things to do before baby gets here...."boys don't look at their parent's wedding scrapbook like girls do" was my excuse BUT, I always said I would get it done before my first child....maybe I should say that I'll at least start before then? :) We'll see....:)

Not Too Much Going On....

I wish I had something really creative to write about, but things are just normal in our household again :) Aaron's back at school and is excited about his classes: Physiology, Human Development, and (to have one more credit) Scuba Diving :) It's funny that he's in human development, learning about babies' development while we have one on the way....makes it a little more real and practical :)

I'm not going to lie....we've BOTH been nesting :) We received a carseat and stroller as a gift and are starting to "prepare" by using our hobbies to make our baby feel welcome. Sewing, knitting (it's coming along!), woodworking, scrapbooking....time is running out and I'm starting to feel like an elf making toys and clothes in time for Christmas....oh wait, that IS what I'm doing :)

(Our stroller!! If you can't tell, Baby Willey's color scheme is blue and brown)

I've been SOOO much more tired than ever before probably due to work, not being able to sleep, etc. but it's also making me very very dizzy. I'm assuming it's totally normal in pregnancy, but it's hard to work because my head just spins which then results in me being sick again....all of you experienced moms, let me know if it's abnormal :) I'm keeping hydrated so I know it's not that so I'm assuming dizziness is included in the pregnancy package!

That's a weekly update on us....Happy Tuesday all.....it's almost Sept. already!! Woah!

All Staff Orientation

First 9 hour work day: Complete!! Yay!! And, I must admit that today was really fun....a morning of training sessions and then an afternoon full of FUN! My company sure knows how to throw an "all staff orientation" party....we got to bowl, play laser tag, and golf glow in the dark mini golf! Wahoo! It was fun....but I'm tired :)

Now, I'm waiting for the hubby to be home in a few hours and TRYING to entertain Sadie....if she was a child, she would be a hard core daddy's girl....she LOVES Aaron :) When she's hyper, he's the only remedy :) But, I shall try! Happy Thursday all!

Last Day of Freedom

I don't like goodbyes. I guess, who does? As I sent my hubby off to work a few minutes ago, I remembered what tomorrow will bring: Going back to work and an extremely busy schedule until our baby comes. I've been sad this week because it feels like such finality....the last days of "just us"

*sigh* So, I've been in a funk lately and super emotional....stupid pregnancy hormones :) I'll blame it mostly on that. We've had such a great month of quality time and I know most married couples don't have that luxury so I'm sooooo thankful but sad to see it go :) I am definitely not complaining, just emotional thinking about how fast life is moving and how time is ticking away...

Baby Willey LOVES to kick and move and sometimes I think he's going to come out as a toddler, ready to conquer the world. My fears were lived out in a dream last night as I had our baby and after 5 hours, he was already running around, getting into trouble and a friend was shouting at me "Discipline your baby!" HA! Oh, and his name was Stellaluna....Stell for short (I just bought that book at a garage sale) :) I woke up laughing and little disturbed :)

Tonight it's another night of helping with VBS :) This week I've been able to meet a few more people from our church and it's been wonderful! I hope you're all doing well....again, know that I'm not complaining and I'm so excited about being a mother, but I'm just sad that this stage in my life is coming to an end so SO soon :)

Weekend

Hey all! I don't have a ton to blog about today....I start work this week and feel like I need to get my house in order before I start back so today is clean, clean, clean!!! But, I had a fantastic weekend seeing a high school friend get married and reconnecting with old friends! And, since it has been BEAUTIFUL lately (beautiful to me is that it feels like fall!) we've been doing alot of this:

Summer Fun!

I haven't updated pics from our summer and as I see it coming to an end, I thought this would be the perfect time! :) We have been so blessed to be able to see our family and extended families alot this summer! I have a huge extended family and am close with many of them so it was SO wonderful to see them....many of them I hadn't seen since my wedding! Unfortunately, I don't have any pics from my reunions :) BUT, I do have some pics from Aaron's side....

The men from Aaron's side looking....tough?

A little boating fun!

I was sad I couldn't do this :( But at least the boys had fun :)

The 2 pregnant ladies :)
Knitting Update: It's coming!! I can do the simple knit stitch, casting on is easy now, and I'm trying to purl! Frustrating at times, but very VERY addicting and fun! Thanks for the advice on YouTube...The Knit Witch (what a name!) has been my best friend

Simple 1-2-3, eh?

Knitting...such a simple task, right? I know how to crochet and I've been really wanting to pick up knitting because I heard it is so similar. So, yesterday someone found this book discounted and gave it to me! I was ecstatic because now I could start my hand at knitting and this book has adorable baby things in it!

Last night I leisurely took it to bed with me and thought that I would at least get a row done, right? WRONG! :) I couldn't get casting on....I KNOW, the simplest thing! Aaron is a visual learner so he came and looked at the pictures to help me out and we still couldn't get it :) Any knitters out there that have tips for a beginner? I have the determination, now I need the brains and coordination to do it :)

Apart from knitting, today we were able to meet up with our friends I mentioned before (Bobby, Jenna, their kids, and his family, Mark, Karen, and Shane) as they were coming back from Rochester. It was SO good to see this dear family! As with all dear friends, it seemed like yesterday that we saw them when in all actuality, it was 8 months ago! Please keep them in your prayers as Bobby receives treatment for his cancer.

....As I'm sitting here, I'm reminded that summer is almost over already....wow that went fast! I start back next week and Aaron starts the following week. I'm sad to see it go, excited for fall (my favorite season!) and wondering what this year will bring :) *sigh*

***P.S. I JUST figured out casting on! Wahoo!!! (1 hr. after original post) ***

Selling Spree!!

I am so, SO glad that we have been forced to downsize in our house because it feels so great to get rid of stuff!!! Today we had a garage sale with our friends Grant and Jen (I'll actually take pictures tomorrow!) and we got rid of SO much stuff! Yay! It felt so good to have things taken off of our hands!

And, we've been REALLY into ebay and half.com lately. Why didn't I utilize these more in college? We're selling our textbooks, old games, books that we have no room for and ah....it feels good to get rid of it :) So, that's been our excitement the last few days :) Seeing things SELL! Yea!

A Little More Real

Wow. This is for real. I haven't let myself look too hard into baby things until this week when we finally SAW our baby and it became real that we're going to be parents in a few months. I'm feeling just a little overwhelmed (trying to figure what we need vs. what would be nice but not a necessity) but very VERY excited and anxious at the same time.

*Yes, we have a name picked out but we're going to TRY to keep it a secret until Baby Willey gets here. Plus, we're debating about how to spell it and I don't want people siding with my husband :) J/K I think his spelling will win in the long run because I'm caving in already :)

*I'm a little bummed I have to be the girl in all this because Aaron actually got to watch the baby at the ultrasound where I had to tilt my head to barely see him.....so, I'm taking Aaron's word for it that he saw an Albertson nose on our child :) We'll see if he's right :)

*As this is becoming more real, I am remembering how much I am NOT a baby person. May be a shocker to alot of you (since I'm a teacher!!) but I would rather hang out with a 2+ year old than a baby. I was asked to help out with either the Nursery or the elementary aged kids at our church's VBS and I quickly volunteered to work with the older kids....will this end after I have my own? We will see :)

*I bought a diaper bag today :) I've been having this recurring dream that I don't have a diaper bag so I put an end to that :) Also, the day after I found out we were having a boy, I went out and bought.....a girl's outfit. What? :) It was ADORABLE and only $2.60 (It was priced wrong I think!) but won't be the right season/size for any friends so I'm just going to keep it :) I'll just blame it on the pregnancy hormones and hope I have a girl that I can use it on someday :)

*sigh* What a random, random post :) I guess it puts my thoughts into a nutshell....they are running 100 mph and I'm overanalyzing, anxious, nervous, excited, and going crazy :) Ah, the joys of being pregnant...

It's A......

BOY!!!!!

Even though that was my guess, I was still surprised when I heard my guess was true! After hearing so many girl guesses, I started second guessing myself. :) Yes, today was the big day when we found out and it was incredible to watch the baby move and see his little feet and body!!
We are soooo incredibly excited about meeting our little boy....and hopefully it will be BEFORE Christmas? :) We'll see....:) Just PLEASE not on Christmas Day, Baby :) I am preparing myself for that and we'll just be super creative with his bday if he is born smack dab on Christmas day :) God's plans are WAY better than my own so if Baby Willey is a Christmas baby, then so be it :)

I'm starting to feel huge but probably because things are starting to not fit...maternity clothes, here I come! I know...I'll get WAY bigger than this! I still have my bouts of morning sickness at least once a week but they are FAR better than before so I can live with it :) I go back to work in two weeks so I'm just savoring this time to be at home, organize, clean, and be JUST a wife for a few more months :) Halfway done with this pregnancy....wow....time is flying!
