36 Weeks

Any day now! Well, okay, probably not for another 4-5 weeks but maybe she'll surprise us and come 2 weeks early?? In the meantime, I need to pack for the hospital, get food in the freezer, have Tristen's things organized, and enjoy the set schedule I have right now with only one child :) Things are about to get busy (the Braxton Hicks contractions keep reminding me that she's coming soon!!)

Pillow Project=Done!

Ahhh, my sewing machine has really been going this week. I've put it away for a little while because I have other things to focus on (like, a fun Memorial Day weekend planned with the Willey side!) but I feel like I've gotten so much accomplished in the last 2-3 weeks. Again, this next month is going to be busy with wedding showers, baby showers, helping Aaron's parents move, getting ready for Baby Girl, etc. so I feel so good with all that I've gotten done! This was my big project for the week:

Aaron's mom made this quilt for Tristen when he was born. When I put it on his bed, I was inspired to make a matching sham and throw pillows. However, little did I know that the only fabric I would be working with would be the few scraps I had from the quilt!! They discontinued the fabric but thankfully I pieced scraps together and had JUST enough! It was actually a pretty fun project to try to match it to the quilt!!

Yay for being done! Tristen LOVES his new pillows!

So, in case you were wondering what the finished product looked like, there you have it!!  Hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Second Bucket Hat!

It's done!
And, to give credit where credit is due, here's a link to the site that I used to make this adorable hat:

There are some advantages to waking up at 4:00am every morning these days! Not only am I getting ready for the busy newborn schedule again, I get a start on projects! Next up: Start on Tristen's quiet book (I've heard these take quite a while and are quite the labor of love!) and sew up some goodies for Baby Girl (hats, headbands, felt shoes)

Happy Wednesday, all!

The Past Week

6 more weeks......and the projects are getting done!! I looked at my calendar for the next 6 weeks and it's going to be busy....ridiculously FUN busy but busy!! I seriously need to stop looking at projects because I want to do every project in the book!! One of my next projects is a quiet book for Tristen to look at during church but as I was looking at templates, I saw travel games, felt food templates, a toddler backpack, and so on and so forth! That's not to mention the projects I want to do for Baby Girl!! One project at a time, I need to tell myself but when you have unused fabric just screaming to be made into something, it's hard to resist. :)

Today I made a bucket hat for Tristen. This is actually the third summer hat I've made him (in the last 3 days!) but the other two were just not what I was thinking and ended up getting torn apart....a little too girly and floppy but then I came across the bucket hat idea. Giving it one more shot, I did a play denim hat today and I'm attempting a nice khaki with orange plaid tomorrow for his nice bucket hat. And, the total cost for both hats?? Umm....next to nothing since they are out of old jeans, khaki's and free fabric I was given by someone getting rid of their scraps! Yay for being thrifty :)

Ha! He likes it :)

Saturday had me traveling down to Iowa to see a good friend from high school as she prepares to get married in a few short weeks!! I'm so glad I got to see her at her bridal shower and I really AM staying put in Mankato from now on :) Doctor's orders :)

Mother's Day!! Tristen, you're so thoughtful to get your mama some flowers! :)

We got to see both mothers on Mother's Day!

And, this picture is just thrown in here because this is what happened when Tristen didn't get any naps on Monday due to a day on the lake :) He is hilariously hyper when he doesn't get sleep and food was everywhere by the time he was finished eating! He's usually such a tidy little man so this was a Kodak moment :)

Around the House

Some activites we've been doing as of late:
Tristen LOVES kitchen things (pots and pans, potholders, utensils)....after I get done with my list of projects (which is ever growing!), I think some felt food making needs to happen :)

Some sprinkler action! Wahoo! Yay for summer!

Lots of climbing these days! (and climbing into this!)

And lots and LOTS of building with blocks!

I'm getting a ton done for their "Swiss Family Robinson" themed room. There are just a few hints here and there but it's still fun decorating with shells, treasure maps, tropical flowers, bamboo, and beach scenary! Now all we need is a giant treehouse for us ALL to live in.....umm, yes please!!

Off to bake and work on projects.....I guess you could classify what I'm doing as nesting....but I just feel like being crafty these days :) It's making me feel better since I've been quite under the weather with a cold/terrible cough this past week! Praying it goes away fast before I get too much further in my pregnancy!
