I can't remember what Step we're on in our journey to move to Mankato so I'll just declare that this is
Step 5: Getting a place to live!
Aaron's parents have been sooooo gracious to let us live in the basement of their house while we have been transitioning into our new jobs and Aaron going back to school. We might be here for a while longer but we've begun looking into places to rent in the near future or at the beginning of next year.
While we had owned a house in Cherokee and have a down payment for another one, we have decided not to buy another house but instead rent for the time being! Our eyes have been opened to the economy and the many people who CAN'T sell their house right now. It was certainly a God thing that we sold our house in a month's time in Cherokee!
Our plan before was to buy a cheap house, fix it up, live in it for 2-3 years and then turn around and sell it for a better one. But, we just decided that it might be better to not be stuck with a house that we can't sell someday....especially if that someday comes sooner than 2-3 years (i.e. if we have to move next year) SO....onto renting!! :) I'll keep you posted on what we find!
Let the search begin!!!

You guys are so smart to think ahead and think through things like that! Now that my parents live here, we've thought about moving to be closer to them [we live on exact opposite sides of Phoenix] but the housing market is so awful that we want to keep our house and make even better than when we bought it so we can hopefully sell it for more! :)
