CHRISTMAS BABIES!!

My brother and Monica are going to have a baby! :) And the due date is......*drum roll please*

Tristen's birthday! Ha!! Isn't that too funny? Maybe Tristen and his cousin will share the same bday :) At least maybe they will both think it's cool to have a birthday around Christmas since they'll be in it together :) Luke was already brainstorming ideas of how to celebrate their birthdays every year :)

My heart is so happy and excited for them :) I cannot WAIT to meet their little boy or girl!! Congrats Luke and Monica!

First Taste

Yummy!

We started introducing solids this week and contrary to what I was thinking it would be like, it was SO much fun! I was really dreading it and putting it off for as long as possible but Tristen started fussing more and more at night so I decided to give it a try. And, he's been LOVING it! Yay!

In other news, lately I've been thinking of how much I don't like having a blog right now. I'm not going to give it up but I've been trying to pinpoint why it seems like a chore to write ANYTHING these days. I then remembered that writing anything during the day is pretty much not going to happen since Tristen is becoming increasingly more mobile and by the time bedtime comes around, my mind just doesn't want to think hard enough to write something serious or even somewhat clever. So, I revert back to bubbly, non-serious posts about the fun things we do. Probably sometimes looks like all we do is have fun around here, eh?

Well, be rest assured that we are just like the rest of you (unless you are perfectly organized and disciplined and never fail) :) I don't have everything together, have repeatedly promised to be more disciplined in areas (exercising, devos, eating healthy, cleaner house, etc.) and have failed multiple times, my laundry from 3 days ago is STILL not done and the things that are folded are STILL not put away (why is it so hard to put away laundry....it should be the easiest task!), and we are SO looking forward to a small vacation next week to get out of the house and do something "different" than the mundane tasks at home.

Oh, and don't get me started on how often I've done my hair and put on makeup in the last few weeks. :)

There, that's a halfway serious post, right? *Whew* Okay, now onto tackle that laundry....typing it out just motivated me to get into gear :)

Weekend Activities

Last week, Daniel, a student who was in our youth group in IA (and now a college sophomore) came up to visit us! It was SO fun......we took him hiking....something we have been doing almost daily. Although I don't like that Aaron has to work nights, it makes it nice to go for hikes in the late morning hours....before it gets way too hot! So, we took him to Minneopa Falls in Mankato...a favorite place of ours :)

Then, on Saturday Aaron's cousin got married....

And Sunday afternoon was spent boating....Tristen's first boat ride! He did great :)

Oh, weekends...why must you go so quickly!?!

Anywhere and Everywhere

It has started. Tristen is into EVERYTHING and cannot stop moving. Oh.my.goodness.He's either
1) Rolling around and somehow getting himself into the most interesting positions (the crib is the craziest. Somehow he ends up at the opposite side of the bed in the morning.)
2) Grabbing everything in sight and putting it into his mouth. While he was starting to do this a month or so ago, now it's EVERYTHING in sight....even his wipe container and an ottoman (he saw the ottoman while in his bumbo and pulled it toward himself)! He's a strong little man already.
or
3) Flopping out of our arms because he wants to stand.
He is keeping me on my toes already! But, as busy as he is these days, he still sleeps through the night and is AWESOME about naps. And, he's always extremely happy....especially when he's rolling around. So, I suppose I wouldn't want it any other way.....Busy while awake but a fantastic sleeper. :) Happy Friday!
