I read a quote once that said, "When in a difficult time, we often ask for deliverance. Sometimes God will give us deliverance, but most of the time He will give us perseverance." This week has been very hard and I realize now God was offering perseverance, but I wanted deliverance. Last night, I was extremely encouraged by 2 Corinthians 4:7-12 and 16-18
"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you."
vs.16 "Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eye not on what is SEEN, but on what is UNSEEN. For what is seen is TEMPORARY, but what is unseen is ETERNAL."
Lord, give me the strength to see things from an eternal perspective. I pray I would not be so concerned with this world, because it IS temporary, but that I would fix my eyes on You and furthering your kingdom. I pray for perseverance during this time. Thank you for giving me such a loving and caring husband and family who are my earthly support. I pray that I would not lean on them too heavily though and my ultimate support would be you and you alone. I surrender all, Abba Father.

I know what you are saying...I love the quote at the beginning and the Bible verses are awesome. Being refined is a painful process but thankfully He walks through the fire with us! Love ya and praying for you!
